  STAY AWAY FROM THE PLACE ON THE LAKE!!!. I heard that The Place on the Lake was a great spot, with tasty well prepared food, and very good customer service. Well, those are descriptions that may apply to the past. I recently attended a wedding there with approx 300 quests, and they ran out of food for the buffet. As a caterer why wouldn't you prepare enough food? You're contracted to feed ALL the quests ALL the items contracted on the Menu.... When this was brought to the attention of the Place on the Lake management, quests were told "people took too much food, ...they weren't eating it, ...so, more food would not be brought out". Perhaps, after realizing that about 50 quests still needed to be served and that the Bride, Groom and Family was furious, Management attempted to correct this by providing - chicken fingers, powdered mash potatoes and fries, but, not what was agree upon on the contract menu. The Place on the Lake doesn't have a Bridal Suite that is attached to the main building where the reception is, it's about 75 ft away, and it looks like a utility shed on the outside. But, partially renovated on the inside. This Bride and Groom was told that the renovation would be complete, and ready for use when they signed their contract approx 9 months in advance. However, not only wasn't the renovations completed, but, the Groom was called by VERY NASTY Management two days prior to the wedding, and told it wouldn't be available due to pipe and pluming issues. DID I SAY THAT THE BRIDE AND GROOM HAD ALREADY PAID IN FULL....This happened to be one of the features that attracted them to this venue. So, the Bride, Groom and Bridal Party had NO Bridal Suite, and NO Separate Cocktails to enjoy, as contracted. By the way, wedding cake wasn't served to ALL tables, the grandmothers table was missed. I could go on about other failures, but, ....I believe you get the idea,.....STAY AWAY. The overall consensus is that the Place on the Lake is NOT READY for large affairs, as this was demonstrated by their lack of staff, customer service, professionalism, catering skills and inability to understand customer satisfaction. DO NOT BE SUCKED IN BY THE VIEW, or PROMISES.

  Excellent experience this past weekend for our daughter's wedding. The venue itself is stunning. Everything from the food to service was top notch and we truly enjoyed every second of the celebration. Highly recommend this beautiful venue for all types of celebrations.

  We had a perfect evening here celebrating our daughters wedding. Service, surroundings and food all first-class. The tenderloin and pasta entrees were delicious. Extensive open premium bar list, beautiful lighting at the bar to top off a great night. Highly recommend. It is the perfect place for a wedding. The staff were very attentive to our needs at every moment so we did not have to worry about anything. The guests were pleased and till this day I still get great comments of how the event was spectacular.
